Fulham area guide

Your extensive guide to living in Fulham

Although not as celebrated as neighbouring Chelsea, Fulham shares its idyllic location along the north bank of the Thames as well its charming mix of traditional Victorian residential properties and forward thinking modern developments. The District Line provides fast Underground links to central London whilst also giving access in the opposite direction to the key suburb of Wimbledon, the last detail being of particular importance during the two weeks in which the famous tennis tournament is played there. Strangely enough, Stamford Bridge - the home of Chelsea Football Club - is actually situated in Fulham. In Bishops Park which looks out over the river visitors will find Fulham Palace which was once the official residence of the Bishop of London and includes a particularly delightful riverside path leading to well-maintained children's playgrounds, cafes and traditional English gardens. The area is also the home of several notable antique shops, auction rooms and designer studios as well as being the location of a good range of top-rated restaurants and gastro pubs.

Fulham Broadway is the main transport hub in the area serviced by the District Line and provides access to many bus routes towards Sloane Square, Kensington, Hammersmith or Putney. Putney Bridge Tube & Bus Station: for District Line services and at least ten bus routes.
